AcademySouth Staffordshire College & Tamworth FC is offering young footballers the chance to see how far their sporting talent can take them, while offering the security of a college-based education. Students will get professional coaching with the Lambs' full time coaches & gain a level 2 or 3 BTEC Sports qualification So, if you are 16+, have the qualifications to meet our entry requirements, and are good at football, this could be your chance to hit the big time. he Academy team will play in the both the Football Conference Youth Alliance Leagues, along with teams such as B'ham City, Wimbledon, Oxford United, Wycombe Wanders, FC United, Tottenham Hotspur, Cambridge United & Charlton Athletic; and, the regional college/academy league structure, along with teams such as Nuneaton Town FC and Dudley Town FC. Players will have a minimum of 6 hours football training / match time each week, with additonal supervised gym time. Training and matches take place in the day time, on weekdays, and fits in along side the education options provided. Tamworth FC are offering young footballers the chance to see how far their sporting talent can take them, while offering the security of a college-based education. Working with South Staffs. College, Tamworth FC are setting up a Football Academy where students will benefit from a full-time sports course, either at level 2, the GCSE equivalent or at level 3, the ‘A' level standard, dependant on their academic ability. The courses run for one year at level 2 and upto two years at level 3. In the afternoons students will get professional coaching with the Lambs' full time coaches & gain a level 2 or 3 BTEC Sports qualification. You can continue to play for their existing clubs if they wish but will also get the opportunity to prove yourselves with Tamworth FC. In the 2nd year of the academy programme, players will train at the same times as the 1st Team, presenting the potential for those with the talent and desire to train with professional players and the opportunity to earn a Tamworth Football Club 1st Team contract. So, if you are aged 16 or 17 on the 31st August, have the qualifications to meet our entry requirements, and are good at football, this could be your chance to hit the big time. Trialists should arrive by 12:00pm and expect to be there until circa 3.30pm.
